Mm And Km Links May 2014 Week [1]
1 Answers
It has been a bit frantic at the penguin rookery this week. I, along with most players, was looking forward to a month of fresh challenges from a new setter.
Not to be I'm afraid. After an exchange of emails, scorpiojo declined the honour and I was then on the hunt for a substitute. Of the two players tied with scorpiojo, Cliffyg last set the links furthest back in time (2012) so I offered the chance to him. Thankfully, he was up for the challenge and so tomorrow morning, you'll all be bowled over in the MM Links Game challenge by 'King Cliffyg'. Thank you Cliffyg for rescuing me from a tricky position.
Watch out for his introduction in Q&P at 08:45 tomorrow with the important bit appearing on the same thread at 9:00 precisely. Early play will give you the best chance of bonus points but play anytime before the game closes at 7pm on Sunday.
Our sister game of the KM Links is overseen by Seekeerz from Australia but it runs in UK time from early on Saturday to midnight Sunday. That version is based on The Daily Telegraph GK Crosswords and you have to guess what Saturday's shaded clues are going to be paired with in Monday's 'Herculis' crossword. Equal chance of points all weekend. Game closes midnight Sunday. Results posted by seekeerz early Monday morning.
Seekeerz will post the 4 clues (and answers) in Q&P soon after they become available on the Telegraph website.
There were many butterflies out in The Shrubbery this afternoon - orange-tips, small tortoiseshells and peacocks. It looks like spring is really on the way. Just look at the trees: the buds have now burst open into green leaves. It could be a good Bank Holiday weekend for a change.
I'm posting this an hour earlier than usual because I'm going out for a meal with members of the local Photographic Society. I hope you are all able to find it. I sad 'all' but that is a euphemism for the handful of players who still visit The Shrubbery each Friday. By all means use the rest of this thread for socialising, but please take your empties with you when you leave and leave the place tidy.
I must now get out of this chair and get ready for my night out.
Be sure to tune in in the morning.
Until then,
Happy Linking,
