Will you please put me out of my misery and tell me what is so heinous about a pizza?

To my mind a pizza is little more than a fancy cheese on toast with extra toppings of your choosing.

I genuinely don't understand why it should be reviled so.

yup (to ummm)

i want pizza now.
I would like to have a proper pizza. One day.....I might book a holiday to Italy :-)
my O/H,who used to drive in Europe, reckons proper Italian pizza are the only ones to eat from choice, but rather along way to go for a snack of an evening
I have eaten pizza from a real Italian restaurant and wasn't impressed. I enjoy Dr Oetker pizzas, ham and pineapple only. My brother makes them from scratch - I avoid cooking so would never consider doing that.
I love pizza...supermarket frozen, pizza hut, home made, proper Italian restaurant ones, any.
Only ones I don't like, and I confess to only having had one once, was a domino delivered one, soggy and vile, and expensive to boot!
And the only variety of pizza I cannot stomach is any that has tuna on it, something totally disgusting about warm or hot tuna, unless it's a fresh tuna steak.
We've never had pizza from a takeaway/delivered. We do,however, make our own from scratch. Delicious.
I can't stand pizza, it is hideous and hugely calorific.
I make Stromboli quite often and most of the kids (and me) like the Asda create your own pizzas - don't like it when the staff go into 'cheese police' mode though.

Daffy, what do you find hideous?

I'm not sure I agree that pizza is excessively calorific, unless you choose it to be that way.

A good pizza to my mind is not one that has a stuffed crust and is overloaded with toppings. Less is more for my perfect pizza.

Stromboli is my way of using up all sorts of odds and ends in the fridge. I love making it when we have visitors!
I don't hate pizza, I find it quite nice. But if I were to do so it would probably be because to charge £££s for what is little more than cheese of toast with a few bits dropped on, is outrageous.
Of yes and pizza is excessively calorific. For sure if you make your own you can probably limit it, but delivered it'll be full of high fat cheese. (And that's aside from the garlic toast.)
For me, I dislike pizza because of the melted cheese-and-tomato base. I've almost always found melted cheeses to be disgusting for whatever reason.
Nothing heinous about pizza in my opinion. I love it ! My favourite is pepperoni plus with extra onion (now my mouth's watering) !
I love Pizza, most kinds as for the topping well IMO any sea faring creature should not be allowed near a Pizza. As posted above Tuna or anchovies Why?
Basically, it's Italian peasant food that originated 'cos they had to eat what was available. (And probably none of them had ever heard of a pineapple - it just doesn't belong on pizza!).
?!?!? Seafood pizza is a favourite !
So many things are better with anchovies (so long as they aren't dripping in oil).
I like Ham and pineapple, after all you put pineapple on Gammon. However the best Pizza I ever had was a Chicken and Mushroom one. Unfortunately I've never being able to find one since.

If Italy beat England tomorrow night, I'll be hurling mine at the TV.
Horrible things :-)
