Beer Belly
4 Answers
Hello! After three years of being at uni, I have found myself with a nice reflection of my drinking habits- a beer belly! However, I am unsure about how to get rid of it. Many people have told me that sit-ups and abdominal exercise is the way forward. In contrast, I am also told that this will in fact make my belly larger from the muscle growth. I know that losing weight is the best way forward, but I am naturally a skinny person, who has final achieved my ideal weight. I do not wish to loose weight, but wish to get rid of my lovely beer gut. I hope I am making sense. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Diet, or more correctly, calorie intake control, is the only way to go. You can maintain the weight you like by losing fat while gaining muscle, which weighs more anyway. So, less beer, burgers, chips etc etc, plus some sensible exercise, perhaps swimming, running or cycling, plus some toning work for your abs, eg crunches and situps, (but mind your back!)
