slinky.kate Have you ever tried substituting minced meat (or quorn) with green lentils? You'd be surprised how good they are in shepherds pie and spag bol. I buy the ready cooked ones in a pouch and do everything the same except add the lentils instead of frying the mince. We had a fantastic shepherds pie last night and no animal was harmed in the process :-)

It would have to be the spag. bol for me. What time shall I get there? ;-)
veg. frittata
stir fry out of that lot but im having gammon steaks with wedges, salad and possibly a fried egg but im undecided on that
I would pick up the phone and order pizza delivery.
kate. option A) roast beef and Yorkshire pudding,, option B) haggis neeps and tatties , ?
Quorn Mince (or indeed *any* Quorn product) feels like it has been made from shredded memory foam.....:o/

For me I'd pick the stir-fry.

But we are having Scampi, new potatoes and veg (yet to be decided).
Frittata for me

Or you could try huevos rancheros or maybe chachouka.
Jack, no you're wrong. Memory foam will have waaaayyy more flavour than quorn. I had quorn burgers once. It was like eating carpet tiles(or so I'm told !) Also, I tried quorn sausages. The aftertaste repeated and repeated and.... Vile.
How about a nice Haggis pie to celebrate , our friends north of the border , historic yes vote ?
I was undecided but Jack has reminded me, I do have scampi in - that's me sorted.

Kate,of your choices I'd have the spag bol minus the pretend mince (Sorry).
LoL, janbee.
Mrs JtH can no longer eat 'normal' sausages but had a real hankering after some, so I bought her some Quorn ones......she was almost in tears after trying to eat them!

Needless to say that's one thing I'll not be buying again......:o)

son is vegetarian.
Question Author
bazille we had haggis bridies yesterday for lunch
its unfair to inflict quorn on anyone vegetarian or not....
I'm cooking gammon steaks. But I won't eat it.
Surely no-one loves their child quite enough to voluntarily eat Quorn, slinky? ;o)
