well you can but they might come out a bit grey and soggy. Are you goting to eat them like that or is it for a recipe?

chopped up, couple of minutes, covered with cling film. If they are not quite soft enough, zap em for a bit longer. Depends on the oomph of your microwave

Try five to eight minutes on High setting.In a bowl with leeks just covered in salted water with a lid on bowl. That would be my idea if leeks are sliced about £1 coin thickness.

I've got a 1000-thingy microwave so 2-3 mins is usually enough for us.

Slice a bit thicker than retrocop suggests (although am sure it all works out the same). Put in microwave with butter and water, salt and pepper to taste. Cover with pierced microfilm and give it a couple of minutes on full. You can then cook a bit longer if you wish.

I don't cover them in water, just a couple of table spoons is enough for two or three finely sliced leeks. And just for two or three minutes, mines a 1000 thingy one too :)

Remember I was in a green grocers one day and overheard the man telling the lady to cut the centre from the leek as it stops it going sour in the soup .Coulda been lying, it was not my conversation to quiz him on it .Wish I had had the courage to ask him but it was one of those fleeting moments in life when a great opportunity arose and I did nowt about it .So this could be true or balderdash .You decide .

A little late with my answer. Having chopped the leeks place in a bowl, sprinkle with about 2Tbs orange juice, a shake of pepper, a small *** of butter and cover with cling film. Cook for 3mins in the microwave. Enjoy
