Roast Beef

I do make my own and it is very nice and tender.

However sometimes I would take a notion for some roast beef and not have any - do any of supermarkets stock slow cooked roast beef.

I have googled but to no avail. Tia

I think all supermarkets do cold cut roast beef, both on the deli counter and in packs.
Certainly Tesco and Morrisons do.

I know you can buy roast beef in little packs ie 4 slices, no, I'm talking about like a large piece that I can cut myself etc.

In Sainsburys - you can buy slow cooked ham hocks (frozen), slow cooked piri piri chicken so thought roast beef could come under the equation.

Had a sirloin steak this aft and it was like *** leather and my oul teeth couldn't cope.

Have you asked at the deli counters whether they would sell you a piece off their big piece instead of slicing it?

The beef sold in delis is usually slice topside or siverside. I have never seen brisket, which is the slow cooked joint. When cooked it breaks up into shreds. Tasty, though.

you could try fillet steak, it's the tenderest but not cheap. (Also, it has less flavour than the tougher, fattier stuff.) M&S and Waitrose are doing good ones these days.
