Anybody Going To Do Sober In October

This is for Macmillan cancer. Was listening to a programme on radio promoting the idea. Thought that as today is last day of September I will pick up a bottle of something to have on the last evening before abstinence. Now these corner shops have a habit of saying when you approach the till you can have 2 bottles for something so low you cant refuse.
And I didnt.
Question. Do I do the sober in October and hide the extra bottle.
Do I drink it tomorrow and join in on the 2nd.
Do I not do sober in October.
Please advise me which I should do and I will take the majority vote before tomorrow evening!

Grass it's a great cause and should be supported.... I'm not giving up the booze any month, but, I will if you will give £30 at the end of the month to Macmillan. If we all do that then I'm sure it will make a difference and that's without all the gimmicks

Drink but don't get drunk, give money to whatever charity you think is deserving. The plus is the money you save by not being involved in a charityfest means that you have more to give to charity and more time of your own so everybody wins!

Is this abstaining from alcohol for the month of October, you can still have a drink and be sober

Captain. Great idea, but I have to be up early in the morning to teach a class of adults stuff they really need to know, so owe it to them to be as good as I can be! If this week were next week I wouldnt hesitate.......

Personally I've been sober for the past few years so it will have to be some other punishment

Get on that wagon, grasscarp. I was a Driathlete in January and felt great at the end of it all.
Unfortunately the taste was still there in early February but the weight loss and giving your system a break makes it worthwhile.

I remember a time when people used to give up fags and booze for Lent (not me). Now it seems they want us to do it twice a year.
