Throwaway Containers....
23 Answers
When you buy something like a frozen lasagne. It can go from freezer to oven. Can you buy these dishes? I've googled but can't find. The ones you get your chinese in can't go in the oven. The foil ones can't go in the microwave. Any ideas please. The ones I have are not card but feel like plastic and are dark brown.

You can buy the foil containers quite easily Jeza. I use these in my caravan as there really isn't room to leave pyrex dishes to soak, and they are cheap enough to be disposable. Also storage is at a premium in a 'van, so again they come in handy on that account as well. Foil containers need to be laid on a baking tray, as they don't hold their shape very well on their own.
Hope this has been of some help.

i think jeza means to ones that are interchangable, oven or microwave. the type ready meals come in.
you can get them but i can only find a catering site & you'd need a way of sealing them
is this what you mean?

I do an enormous amount of batch cooking and simply use containers suited to the cooking/reheating method. Could you not do similar and use reusable plastic containers or bags for micro stuff and foil for the oven (foil containers can be reused too BTW).
I've had a look at some websites and the prices per item are daft, ~25p a pop.

23p each doesn't sound too bad, but who wants 100 of them ? Anyway, you are still going to have to seal them properly. You could use cling film I suppose, which will be a lot cheaper than those heat-operated commercial machines. Best to use a combination of foil and plastic, as has been suggested.
Don't forget that you could always use pyrex dishes, as they seem suitable for pretty well everything.
