When you buy something like a frozen lasagne. It can go from freezer to oven. Can you buy these dishes? I've googled but can't find. The ones you get your chinese in can't go in the oven. The foil ones can't go in the microwave. Any ideas please. The ones I have are not card but feel like plastic and are dark brown.

I've seen them in a cash and carry but that's for the trade and you maybe have to buy a whole load of them.
I buy the plastic microwaveable ones from the poundshop Jeza, one container can equal one portion or two depending upon appetite :-D xx
shoot, really should read first, sorry, thought you meant from freezer to microwave.
Jeza you can but aluminium containers in most supermarkets. Sainsbury's do ones with cardboard lids.

You can buy the foil containers quite easily Jeza. I use these in my caravan as there really isn't room to leave pyrex dishes to soak, and they are cheap enough to be disposable. Also storage is at a premium in a 'van, so again they come in handy on that account as well. Foil containers need to be laid on a baking tray, as they don't hold their shape very well on their own.

Hope this has been of some help.
i think jeza means to ones that are interchangable, oven or microwave. the type ready meals come in.

you can get them but i can only find a catering site & you'd need a way of sealing them

is this what you mean?

I'm reading the post that Jeza is looking for containers that can be microwaved AND go in the oven. Is that the case Jeza?

I'll have a look at some suppliers but I think they will be sold in commercial quantities, I cannot recall seeing them in domestic quantities.
I don't think she wants foil ones (they can't go in the microwave)
i think what you want is really only av for mass production
I do an enormous amount of batch cooking and simply use containers suited to the cooking/reheating method. Could you not do similar and use reusable plastic containers or bags for micro stuff and foil for the oven (foil containers can be reused too BTW).

I've had a look at some websites and the prices per item are daft, ~25p a pop.

Was about to answer when I was 'kicked out' Talbot yes yes yes exactly what I'm looking for thanks. Also thanks to everyone else for helping.
Question Author
I have foil one's from Wilco, I have plastic ones with lids from the Chinese takeaway. I want exactly what Talbot linked to. I buy seal able poly bags, they should go well together.
Oh, sorry I completely misunderstood what you were looking for.

What are the containers in Talbots link going to do that the you have others won't?
Question Author
Freezer, oven, microwave. The others only do 2.
23p each doesn't sound too bad, but who wants 100 of them ? Anyway, you are still going to have to seal them properly. You could use cling film I suppose, which will be a lot cheaper than those heat-operated commercial machines. Best to use a combination of foil and plastic, as has been suggested.

Don't forget that you could always use pyrex dishes, as they seem suitable for pretty well everything.
Question Author
Agree mikey but I'd need an awful lot of pyrex to freeze in batches and they take up a lot more room.
Be very careful when wrapping them. As, you are presumably not going to get a proper heat sealer, you could find meals spoiling from freezer burn.
Feel free to shoot me for that last post.....I really shouldn't try to do three things at once :-(
I get them from poundshops in packs of 6
