I like it with muesli but it's not so nice in tea & coffee imo
I was curious too but imagined a watery almond milky liquid?
It's not vile but once was enough
How about Soya milk. Is it nice.
I can't tolerate cows milk and use almond milk for porridge ,as a drink (hot or cold)or on weetabix etc .You can use it in cooking as a subsititute for whole milk .I love milk and this is very nice as is oat milk .It's not good in tea or coffee though so I have a little splash of ordinary skimmed milk in those .
Never tried soya either jenny.
I find soya milk greasy for some reason .I regularly buy Alpro almond and oat milk, rice milk is nice too.I was the original pinta milk a day gal ..lol..but not these days with my dodgy innards and I find it quite acceptable if not better than ordinary milk.
If you do buy it ,take the top off ,remove the little pull tag ,put the top back on and give it a good shake first as the thick stuff sinks to bottom .That's why people think it's watery when it isn't .
Hi shaney, is the almond milk as low calorie as skimmed milk? What exactly is almond milk?
Thanks shaney, it only compares the benefits to whole milk though. I only drink skimmed. I wonder how it compares calorie wise to skimmed? Thanks for the link it was interesting!
I don't like substitutes in tea but find oat milk quite good on cereal and hot chocolate.
My grandson has to have Alpro or Soya as he is lactose intolerant, he likes it, but then it is all he has ever known really.

Almond has approx 13 cals per 100ml .
Skimmed has approx 35 per 100ml
That is form looking around the internet .
shaney, thanks for that last link, very informative. I like the idea of a low calorie high calcium drink! I read thyroid sufferers are more one to osteoporosis due to taking thyroxine. http://www.wddty.com/thyroxine-and-osteoporosis.html
'prone'
Actually, I should ask sqad about that claim. I've just looked at some other links regards osteoporosis & thyroxine & they say different.
I'll just stick with semi-skimmed normal milk. I think all these weird milks are just another supermarket ploy to rip us off.
Well some of us can't drink ordinary milk due to lactose intolerance ..
I don't feel i'm being ripped off if I can have something that I can enjoy drinking and doesn't have me spending all day on the throne ...so there !!
Not for the lactose intolerant diddlydo .. love the name! ;0)
