I can't tolerate cows milk and use almond milk for porridge ,as a drink (hot or cold)or on weetabix etc .You can use it in cooking as a subsititute for whole milk .I love milk and this is very nice as is oat milk .It's not good in tea or coffee though so I have a little splash of ordinary skimmed milk in those .
I find soya milk greasy for some reason .I regularly buy Alpro almond and oat milk, rice milk is nice too.I was the original pinta milk a day gal ..lol..but not these days with my dodgy innards and I find it quite acceptable if not better than ordinary milk.
If you do buy it ,take the top off ,remove the little pull tag ,put the top back on and give it a good shake first as the thick stuff sinks to bottom .That's why people think it's watery when it isn't .
Thanks shaney, it only compares the benefits to whole milk though. I only drink skimmed. I wonder how it compares calorie wise to skimmed? Thanks for the link it was interesting!
shaney, thanks for that last link, very informative. I like the idea of a low calorie high calcium drink! I read thyroid sufferers are more one to osteoporosis due to taking thyroxine. http://www.wddty.com/thyroxine-and-osteoporosis.html
Well some of us can't drink ordinary milk due to lactose intolerance ..
I don't feel i'm being ripped off if I can have something that I can enjoy drinking and doesn't have me spending all day on the throne ...so there !!
