I am going to be buying these to make a pavlova.

There is approx 13-15 egg whites

I think 2 tablespoons makes up one egg white.

My problem is my tablespoons look flattish and I wouldn't trust them to be accurate.

What could be the exact measurement or could I buy a measuring spoon somewhere. Your answers are appreciated.

right thanks ubasses - so can I buy that in a better spoon etc
I got my measuring spoons from Morrisons. They give the measurements in mils and teaspoon, tablespoons, etc.

my soup spoons look better - what milligrams would that be
I just put mixing bowl on scales, set to zero and then add until required measure is reached.
You can also get something similar in cups.

I have just looked in Lakeland so will hopefully get these today.

Pavlovas by the time you "dress" it cream and other toppings can be expensive.

Thanks for your replies.
I find pavlovas too sweet and cream too sickly.

I hope you enjoy yours though.

they are not for me Ummm - for friends - I do only make them about once a year Xmas eg.
I do keep meaning to make one. I think the kids would really like them as they are still at the sweet tooth stage.

I was a big sweet eater when I was younger but over the years it's become less and less. A bar of chocolate could last me 3 days.
Given the volume why not use a measuring jug? Here's a recipe from their website

thanks Eccles for that link will print it out. Didn't get to Lakeland as it has been so miserable here.
I adore pavlova and make it whenever I have any leftover egg whites in the freezer. 2oz sugar (2 tablespoons) per egg white and they are perfect every time. When I put them in the freezer, I always make sure to label them with the quantity of whites as it's not easy to tell by looking at them
Why not buy a syringe?
I'm flummoxed, I don't understand 2 chick egg whites or why you have to measure it - don't you just buy the eggs and separate them? I make meringue all the time and follow the same as LyndaB, 2ozs sugar to 1 egg white.
Question Author
it does save you from the fiddly bits ie separating them - also I do not use the yolks so that is a bit of a waste
Oh, so are you saying you can but fresh eggwhites, I didn't know that.
meant buy
