Dinner Service

So the daughter has said she would like a plain white dinner service for Xmas, and I'm struggling. The problem is she doesn't want one with the deep soup bowls, but she wants the 'old-fashioned' shallow bowls with a 'lip'.
I've looked at John Lewis, M&S, Debenhams, The White Company, but can't find a suitable one so any suggestions please. She hasn't said whether she wants a 4 or 6 place setting...

I got a service fairly similar many moons ago from a retail place in one of the backstreets of Clifton. Try your Yellow Pages or Thomsons Local maybe.

Argos have a couple with the more shallow bowls, another option is to buy separates I guess.

Thank you both for your replies. I don't know of any local potteries and the Argos one isn't the right shape.
Would you believe that the criteria is she must be able to get 2 Weetabix side by side in the soup/cereal bowl!

You could try a large antiques fair. Generally they will be patterned, but I have seen plain white sets for sale. At least then you'll get the old fashioned type dishes.
