Heat Resistant Dish

Have above and would be happy with the depth of it - I have it a long time and only sorta used it for whipping cream or making jellies.

How could I find out if it is heat-resistant. Thanks

Heat resistant in what way? Microwave or direct contact with heat?

I'd like to see your dish please.

Sorry JJ I should also apologise for another double entendre there.

If it's ceramic and doesn't have any cracks or split lines I can't see why it wouldn't be safe in the oven to use (if it does have any splits it could shatter). Ceramic can take up to 260 Degrees C.

If it's glass and old I wouldn't chance it JJ ,unless of course it is Pyrex or similar but they are usually marked on the base.

no marking on the bottom - it was just the right size for what I wanted to do but i did buy pyrex dish yesterday - a little smaller in depth but I will make it do. Ta

If you put it in a hot oven or microwave and it shatters it's not heat resistant.

I do have pyrex dishes which I don't use at all - just this one was the right depth. So I didn't want to waste any more money on unnecessary dishes.
