I've done the date and walnut cake, now off to bake 10 batches of buns. Brings back memories!

With 7 very interested dogs looking on?
Question Author
Psybbo, they can look if they want but they aren't allowed in the kitchen, we have a baby gate :)

They would rather be crashed out on the carpet in front of the fire anyway - they've already had haggis for their tea.
I'll bet the smell in your kitchen is amazing
After haggis, I bet the smell in front of the fire is even more amazing :-)
Question Author
Psybbo: it is! There always seems to be a pressure cooker on the hob with meat in for the dogs. They get fed better I do, well that's down to me not eating very often but hey!
Question Author
Don't forget the other 3 who aren't in front of the fire :)

Lie-in King: Hmmm yeah, haggis or no haggis they still seem to toot for England. I'm waiting for the day when one of them lets loose and there's a flame from the fire to the back end of said culprit.
/they've already had haggis for their tea./
Ah, so they're Scottie dogs, then.

I'm doing all this baking for the staff at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. My step dad is back in tomorrow for his 2 round of chemotherapy and we want to thank the staff. Other than chocolate buns what else do you think the staff would be interested in (baking wise)?
Question Author
BlackadderV: Nah, my mum wanted to make haggis and she's pulled it off. She managed to source all the required ingredients from a farm shop/butcher and has made 10 of them.
Biscuits? Are you fit again and how is your eye?
Question Author
Psybbo: Still under a lot of pain and there is to be no follow-up. My eye must have been Impetigo as the cream I was prescribed in hospital for my face has taken it down but I'm still suffering with it. I tried making an appointment with the doctors on Thursday but apparently that day is for emergencies only. Then on Friday I called and they never called back. I've given up with them. I will be admitted again when I get to a point where I can't physically move due to the pain and they will have to investigate why I'm having the attacks.
Sorry to hear that, Dizmo. I have given up trying to see my doctor as she is fully booked and they can't give me one for next month as the diary is not available!
Scones are fairly quick and simple - you could pre-cut them and take a jar of jam....

It's getting silly re the hospital. They know I have a fluid build up near to my left kidney but can't be bothered to do anything about it. I'm sick of having to spend a week at a time there and to be honest the pain relief is now doing nothing; Morphine (whilst in A&E department), subcutaneous morphine, oramorph, antiemetics, tramadol, codeine and paracetamol. My body is so used to morphine that 10mg doesn't do anything.
Psybbo - I had that problem once. I asked why they couldn't get a bit of paper, write a list of dates and transfer it to the computer when it would allow them to. n The glare I got translated as unprintable...
Ah, the curse of modern technology:

"Computer says no".
