Sharp Microwave R-291(K)M

Can anyone advise me about this. I bought one last week from an Amazon market seller.It is supposed to bleep four times when finished, but the beeps are so quiet no one can hear them except my daughter who has excellent hearing. I wondered is this is the norm or could it be a fault. Also today when I cooked a couple of baked potatoes the outer casing was VERY hot everywhere and it had only been on for 10minutes, I am concerned for when it is on for longer. I never noticed my old mic (also a Sharp) ever getting more than warm but it was quite old when it gave up, so I wondered if this how the new ones are, before I get in touch with Amazon. hope someone can help.

While your statutory rights are, of course, with the retailer (so that's who you should be hassling if you think that you need a refund, repair or replacement), the average online seller probably knows nothing about the things he's actually selling. (To him, an order for a microwave oven simply means getting a box delivered to you; he's probably never even seen what's inside the box, yet alone tried it out).

So it might be worth phoning Sharp first, to see what they have to say about the matter. (If they say that the product must be faulty you'll then be in a much better position to demand a refund from the retailer, as it won't just be your opinion that he's required to respond to). Thank you for that advice Chris, and the 'phone number. I will do that asap. I was also hoping that someone who had used one of these mics could tell me if it gets very hot or not, I could live without the bleeps I suppose. -rosy

I'd be worried too if the outside of the microwave got hot...mine gets barely warm.
