Just got in from the theatre, we went to the Everyman theatre in Cheltenham.
It was Roy Orbison and friends. It was a chappie called Barry Steele. He was absolutely brilliant. He also had a Jerry Lee Lewis and an Elvis with him. They were really good too. I was amazed I knew all the words to every song. Afterwards they came into the foyer to meet people. He looked so like Roy. He was very envious when I told him I saw Roy at least three times. He said he never had the chance.
Before the theatre we had a meal at Jamies italian. We got a good deal there. Amazon are offering vouchers for a three course meal for £20 per person at jamies so we bought those last week. Really good value, smaller menu but five choices for each course. There was too much to eat. We also got a free glass of prosceccio each as theatre goers. So a good deal all round.
So just opened my rosé so cheers everyone!
Caran, it must be nice to be rich, young, and famous! I'm quite jealous of you having such a great time and hearing some great music. I'm sitting here crying because I'm only the lonely:)
Study I don't know about the young, I managed to see Roy in the dim and distant past. And since when have pensioners been rich? I think I'm more infamous than famous too.
For a change nothing went wrong. He sang the lot. But the last time I saw Roy he changed pretty woman. He did it al la jimi Hendrix style. It was awful, I actually cried because that was always my favourite.
I haven't been to the Everyman for about 20 years. A lovely theatre. That was for, 'Those Radio Times' by the Cheltenham Operatic and Drama Society, in conjunction with BBC Radio Gloucestershire. Very good it was too. We got free tickets from Radio Gloucestershire on a phone in. A most enjoyable evening. We ordered interval drinks beforehand to avoid having to queue. good plan.
