Runner Bean Slicer

20years ago I bought a runner bean slicer and it has just given up the ghost.
It is about 2 inches square plastic with small blades in the middle and is absolutely fab and much quicker than the ones they sell now that you have to turn a small wheel.
Does anyone know where I can buy one of the small bean slicers? I believe betterware used to do one.

I've got one of those woof, it's brilliant and so wuick to use. I recall my grandfather using a cast iron turn the handle jobbie to slice the beans. It was great but so difficult to clean. The one woof has linked to is brill and no mess!!

From my childhood I remember the terms: string beans, runner beans, French beans. Are they just different terms for the same thing?

Runner beans we ere my bag...never heard mention of French beans in my childhood....

There are loads of different beans. Various sizes, shapes and colours. Some need a frame to climb on and others are dwarf and grow no more than 18" tall.

I have the Krisk one, it's brilliant. I use it for other things too. Especially spring onions when I have crispy duck!
