I would like to know where I can get info regarding the law on preparing food in a private social club for paying customers' consumption. For example sandwiches, chips, jacket spuds etc.Can they do this without a food licence, and are there requirements for a kitchen area ? Many thanks

Try the Health & Safety Department of your Local Authority.   I believe there is some legislation now which requires individuals working in certain food manufacturing/processing operations to have a Food Hygiene certificate.

No actual licence required. As someone suggested, a food hygiene qualification is a very strong recommendation if not a must.

Contact your local Environmental Health dept who should be only to glad to give you advice and guidance on what you can and cannot do.

I generally do!
