is on a diet/healthy eating programme but always feels hungry. any suggestion re food/drinks to alleviate his ' hunger pains TIA

The recent Horizon "What's the right diet for you?" pointed out that some people have a specific problem with the hormone which the stomach sends to the brain to signal fullness. So, after reaching their target weight loss, their subsequent diet will be a permanent life change, designed to mitigate the hunger feelings. Sadly, they may have to adjust to feeling hungry and relying on self-discipline to prevent weight gain. :-/

Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. Suggest that they try drinking more water.
I was on a diet once and was so hungry that I had to go on another diet at the same time
Drink a big glass of water before every meal.
Eat more jacket potatoes and make sure you eat the skin.
Is your friend on any particular diet?
