This evening...well, starting sometime this afternoon...we will be having a few bellinis made with fresh peaches, followed by pasta with salmon and peas in a hollandaise sauce, ending with chopped strawbs, oranges and banana with a little yogurt. Maybe a mini magnum will find its way in somewhere too ;)
What will you be having on this lovely summer day?
Sounds lovely! I think we will have salmon with new potatoes and carrots from the garden, mixed salad leaves for the garden followed by fresh picked strawberries..from the garden with cream all washed down with a colombard-chardonnay. OH is going grocery shopping and doing the dinner as I have my fortnightly hospital visit so will be a lady of leisure .;-)
I'd love to be able to go into the garden and pick a load of veg, fruit and salad stuff, how much fresher can you get? Lucky you maydup and retro :)
What surf and what turf Ummmm...steak and prawns maybe?? What with?
Fluff, I've just added avocado to my shopping list for Monday, I can feel a chicken and avocado salad in the offing.
I'm tired and achey so some quick and easy soup, Heinz tomato I think, a tinned salmon sandwich and some Piccola cherries for afters if I'm still hungry.
Oh heck Eve, not much fun for you on such a lovely day :(
I always make far too much of any pasta dish, it's a shame I couldn't send you some of this salmon thing later, save you bothering at all. Having said that, Heinz tomato soup is a feel good food isn't it, guaranteed to make you feel better. I put pickled beetroot slices on my salmon sandwiches, you've reminded me I've not had them for a while, that's lunch tomorrow sorted :)
Oh yes, anyone fancying a Bellini, forget the fresh peach, it just sits on the top of the prossecco, takes the fizz out, and drips down your chin when you drink it.
Much better is a measure of peach cordial, a measure of peach schnapps, a teaspoon of lemon juice, top up with prossecco. Very quaffable :)
Aww, that's so lovely! I'm taking it easy, am lying on the sofa watching Wimbledon. Falling asleep already after a much later than usual night last night (saw Wicked so worth it!) so not sure I'll make it to tea haha! Hoping to get a bit of a second wind to be able to watch Andy Murray then it's an early night and a lie in for me.
Heinz tomato and chicken soups are definite comfort food :)
We've had spaghetti with tomato sauce and some meatballs. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and what the baby wants, the baby gets! No dessert for us but our daughter had a choc-ice (which I fibbed to DH was the last one so that I can eat the actual last one when he goes out later!).
