On a trip last year to Bath we enjoyed coffee and bath buns in the local cafes. Why cant we get them in Scotland?

The buns are still produced in the Bath area of England.
You can, if you make your own, lyn.

You probably can, maybe just by another name, Ive seen these in bakeries many times in England and Wales but never heard them called Bath Buns before.
Funny how my favourites are ..Scotch Morning Rolls .. and we dont have a ready supply on the Sussex Coast ?

I'm sure it's down to supply and demand !
I'm in Glasgow. Never tasted one been to England several times but 99% sure I haven't tried them
Cazza I'm sure something is lost in the translation and the English interpritation ..https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=scottish+roll
You must have had one !

I used to love my Dad getting home from nightshift where he worked in Dennys shipyard in Dumbarton ( I used to be a local). He always brought these rolls.
He would toast one of these and cover it it butter and I would sit in bed and scoff it for breakfast.

Whiskeyron - just because they are called bath buns doesn't mean you cant buy them elsewhere! they are a soft roll with lumps of sugar on top - delicious.
