As I'm always on my own, I've often prepared a full turkey meal but by cheating with the turkey. (i.e. buying the 'carved from the bone' cooked turkey from Morrison's and simply warming it in the oven). It was still a lot of faffing about though and one year I simply couldn't be bothered (even though I'd got the turkey and all of the other components for a full turkey lunch) and I simply heated up a Findus frozen lasagne for my Christmas lunch.
A couple of years ago I did decide to have some different, choosing a duck breast instead of turkey. But once again I found that it took an excessive amount of effort just to cook for one.
So last year I decided to take the easy way out and try one of these:

I wasn't expecting it to be much good but I was pleasantly surprised. (In the past, I've been served far worse meals, at mega-prices, on Christmas Day in pubs and hotels). So that will be what I'll be going for again this year.
