The weekend is here. It's persisting down and blowing an 'ooligan. No change there then!

On the canal the rain held off long enough to let some people have some fun on the three katakanus we had there. While they were dong that a friend and me had a good chat and noted all the organisational problems and we are now working on the answers. We got a lot done.

Lunch was provided by our hostess, enough to feed the 5000! Home made soup, home made bread, cakes and biscuits and all manner of goodies. All in all a good day.

Morning waterman! Well done! God day then! I'm sure they appreciated everyone's efforts!

Morning Lina. xxx Thank you. Yes it went well. While the boats were out the two of us got a lot done about steering the right course for the future.

How are you this morning my lovely? ;o}
It's good to pick over something and make it ever better the next time waterman. I'm good! Did a new years day meal for my daughters family yesterday, that went well. Now I've got things back to normal, cards down, furniture back ( have to rearrange to get a long table in) Got to say, I'm looking forward to getting back to work, my bones might ache for the first few days, but I'm missing the exercise. Did I tell you the building I clean was once a dancehall then cinema?
Question Author
I'm getting back to whatever passes for normal too. The cards are coming down today.

That's what we want to do. Make it better. We will! :o}

No. I didn't know that. It must have lots of nooks and crannies to be cleaned.
I'm sure you'll succeed! ;0) Too many nooks and crannies waterman, there's no way one person could ever cover everything 100% You just do the best you can in Rota and see it through someone else's eye and hope it's acceptable. I've had no complaints for as long as I've been there. Need to get back in to the swing of things. I've come to the conclusion that Christmas can be very unhealthy if you let it be! There's an excess of most things. People drink more, eat more, have less sleep & are out of their normal routines .. exercise.
Question Author
You must be doing a good job if nobody notices. They soon notice errors!

Christmas is the biggest cause of family arguments for all the reasons you state Lina. Too much of everything, particularly alcohol. All supposedly to celebrate something that never happened!
There's the yardstick to measure things by waterman! ;0)
Oh I still love Christmas, for every negative there's a positive. You only have to watch the news to see whrre and what good people are doing for the community.

Indeed that's right. A great deal of good is done by many people who want to help others. Such as the 11 year old lad given an MBE for raising £250.000 for charity. The youngest ever to receive the award. But for many it's just greed.

I'm being negative this morning aren't I. Buck up boaty!
I try to ignore the other stuff waterman, it can get you down. So, where are Jan & lozzy ... are they back from their travels yet? Has murray made her cheese & onion loaf? .. Have the people she shared it with survived? ;0)
Question Author
You're right Lina.

I don't think either of them are back yet. Minty succeeds at anything she does, so I'm sure the bread was good. ;o} The machine she has is a good one, the more up to date one like mine. I'm on my third machine! I use it a lot. I never[i buy bread. There is an organic bakery not far from here where I sometimes buy rolls if I haven't had time, or forgotten, [i]more likely!] to make any.
I'm sure she did, she'll get a lot of use out of it. I love those little shops where you can get your hands on something a little different!
Question Author
I like them too. You can find some lovely things in the most unlikely places. I sometimes go over to the farmer's market in Stroud. It's won an award for the best one in the country. I can get some lovely, fresh, organic produce and all manner of other items.
morning boaty xxx lina xx

Morning minty xxx How are you and mum this morning?

Did she like the bread?
Doh! Posting on the wrong thread again. Morning murray x
Question Author
What thread are you posting on Lina?
bread was lovlee..will have to be careful not to become a fresh bread junkie though !! lol..spent the day at mums which was just as well as brother did not show up, which angered me.he should have been there for mum yesterday..also sis disappeared to go to the brats..and although my aunt called round for an hour ..mum would have been alone without me there..not happy with my thoughtless siblings at all...took her to the cemetery and she was a wee bit better after that...sis is leaving in a few weeks I think and is taking the older sprog away with her..thank goodness..athough he can only stay in singapore 3 months or maybe 6..so have no idea after that..but she is renting out his room here at their house so he will not be back there !! just wish the other one would move away to Dundee as he keeps saying he wants ... I was supposed to be going round to a friend today for nibbles and wine, they had kindly included mum in the invite, but I have sent my apologies asmum is not ready to socialise with strangers like that yet, will most likely take her out for a quiet lunch somewhere..weather awful so it will not be far away..
Morning all.....dry here for the moment - how long, a good question....

All this food you are chowing down, boaty....we'll be renaming you 'burpy'!
