I have had braces for about 4 years now and I was supposed to get them off in about five weeks from now. But the 'doors' on the brackets which keep the wire in opened and now the tooth has gone crooked without me noticing it. The ortho said this has delayed me for a while now and how long do teeth usually take to straighten back? Is there anyway to help or speed up the process of the straightening to ensure I dint have braces for longer? The braces are extremely annoying me where I was getting them off before my brother and his teeth were bad but now he's getting them off next appointment. I am so disappointed and help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
this isn't an answer to your question but here in NI I have just found that the kids WANT braces - apparently it is the whole trend. Neighbour's kids' teeth look perfectly fine to me and she said if they score 3 out of 5 points??? they get braces. So you are trendy rugbylad!!!!
I read somewhere that drinking cold drinks can temporarily tighten your braces. But it will only be temporary. There's not much else to do but be patient. You'll be pleased with the result, I'm sure.
I just wanted to say, it's important use your retainers when the braces are off, as your teeth can quickly slip back out of line. Don't let all that time and discomfort go to waste.
