Transco were recently fined �15m for breaching health and safety regulations which lead to an explosion that demolished a house in Scotland, tragically killing a family of four. What happens to the money from fines like this ? Who gets it and what does it get used for?

Don't quote me on this but i heard if there are no surviving family members the money goes to the state.
