I was trying to remember names of sweets from years ago, ie. parma violets, sherbert fountain, spangles etc. But the one sweet I cannot remember the name of is a lolly on a small round stick and it was a round ball shape  with a flat around the edge, came in two different colours top and bottom and tasted of a fruit flavoured hard powder/sherbert. any ideas ?

I used to (and still do) call them chalk lollies

Still around today in most sweet shops or supermarkets and taste as good as they did when i was young.
Swizzlers?
Question Author
Thanks for your efforts, just found them on an earlier link at www.aquarterof.co.uk and click on lollies, then 5th box along and they are called DOUBLE LOLLIES

Ooh I remember those very well, we used to poke them inside our cheeks while we played. I don't think they were called Double Lollies years ago  - BOO's name of Swizzle Lollies sounds a bit more familiar....could be wrong though.

I'd go with Swizzler too.

(Though the thought of grinding your back teeth on one just sets my spine on edge now!!)

Swizzle's Double Lollies - you can still get them!
Just found one in the cupboard and it says Swizzels double lollies.
i always knew them as double lollies. weren't swizzlers the ones with 2 flavours of sherbert?
