Why is it that when I drink energy drinks, or take Borocca or Pro Plus, I never feel any different with regards to my levels of energy or alertness?

Complete waste of money.
Hi tolerance. They have no effect on me either but one strong coffee gives my OH the shakes and makes him really jittery.
Some drinks have a marginal effect on those who exercise greatly. Not because it has more energy but because it can be isotonic and have the right salts to replace what has been used. But these are usually labelled sports rather than energy. Energy drinks have more calories and carbs.

Neither help the average individual but I can't say I see any real benefit in energy drinks at all, unless you are trying to put on weight; and even then you could put sugar in tap water.
Pro plus contains caffeine. Maybe you don't notice the benefit but do you notice being more alert when having drunk a mug of coffee ? It'll be having an effect though. Don't take too many as caffeine can disturb your heartbeat: they aren't sweeties.

Thanks folks.

OG - no, I don't notice any difference when I drink coffee, either. I now drink decaffeinated, but I used to drink "full fat" coffee, which had no effect on me.
A couple of guys I work with have just an energy drink for breakfast every morning but it never seems to make them graft any harder!
