Well we have guests today in the form of OH'S parents.

I'm doing Slow-cooked free-range chicken, slow-roasted pork belly, pigs in blankets, parsnips, twice cooked roasties, sausage meat stuffing with almond and apricot, creamed spinach, broccoli, carrots, peas (and processed peas for FIL), savoy cabbage, sprouts and chestnuts and gravy.

Banoffee and Baileys Brioche bread and butter pudding with custard and vanilla ice cream for afters.

Garden martini cocktails prior to serving out.

What's on your menu today?

Lobster on the beach with a glass of champagne (they call it champagne but it'll probably be Californian sparkling) then a couple of cups of rum punch

I've just had sushi.

Question Author
Yummers. We had fantastic Sushi from Grand Central a while back. Have you been there?
No...I've only been to that one in Brum and a new one that opened up here. I love watching them make it. So quick.
Question Author
I think I'm going to have to have a stable at making some. I've introduced OH to it and he loves it.
Question Author
I should have come into that restaurant with you guys but I just didn't feel all that hungry at the time.

I ended up having an ostrich burger without the roll.
You should have done. We didn't actually have sushi though :-)

Next time we go to Brum I want to sit at the conveyor belt counter.

It was quite funny. Waiter could see Ginge eyeing up things to steal so came over with a goody bag for him...
In all honesty I don't know what's on the menu today as I'll be on the road - most likely sandwiches of some decription.

Rather be footing it to your place NoM sounds good :) enjoy
Question Author
There's one in Selfridges, Ummmm. I've eaten there and it's pretty good.

You'd be more than welcome, QoM.
I think we had Ostrich burgers...I'm trying to remember but Ginge is asleep after his massive breakfast :-)

I really don't want to look at the state of kitchen...
Aww bless :)

Can't be that bad is it ummm?
Question Author
Where does he put it? He's as fit as a butcher's dog!

Ohhh....it really can. It's one of his best skills...
NoM, I'm not going to tell him you said that!! :-)
just a farm-made quiche and fabulous pork pie for lunch today with a couple of salads and lovely small toms....dinner more this evening but then it's only marinated chicken breasts sautéed off and a Caesar salad with it, fresh rasps for dessert (no sugar, they are sweet enough).
Don't know yet. I'm shopping later.
Question Author
He's just solid muscle, though! My OH is the same - tall and lean. Eats everything in sight.

Sounds delish, DT. How did your meet up with WBM go?
fine - two pub dinners and coffee yesterday, his sister (dubird) as well....
Chicken in a marinade of cumin, garlic, lemon and honey with the pan being deglazed with wine and a splash of cream to finish; new pots roasted with smoked paprika and sherry vinegar; spinach cooked with garlic, pine nuts and raisins; steamed French beans. Rasps, brambles and black currants to finish.

Will have a root around in the fridge to see if there is anything to knock up as a canapé.
love sushi - we have to go to Plymouth for the nearest, ditto dim sum Chinese... best I have ever had was in the fish market in Tokyo (and sensational tea)...favourite sushi are enagi and oily fish like mackerel and flounder.
NoM's family gathers at the dinner table,
They brought their immense appetites, keen and able.
The kitchen has been hot this Sunday morning.
Her OH (Mr. commie) has been peeling, boiling, baking and pouring.
The chicken is juicy, twice-roasties, a myriad of vegetables so divine,
Don't look at NoM's plate - she says 'it's mine all mine and the wine!'
They finish their plates, that's no mean Herculean feat,
Room for some Banoffee and bread and butter pudding?
No thanks, Sunday dinner's complete.

Burp.
