IAP is right - if you buy the sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds in a health food shop they are already dehusked and ready to eat.

Hi,

These are from a company called cypressa and have been roasted and salted and it says on the back 'to eat, split the seed edgewise between the front teeth, remove the kernal and eat. discard the husk'.

i tried this but there seems to be very little room inside the husk to avoid the seed.

I got them from Kwik save - didn't notice they were still in the husks.

the husks are grey and white striped and flat and beige.

thanks

Put them on a tray in the oven, the heat opens the ends.
