Just had a breakfast where they served up rostis with it, they were lovely. Just found this recipe, thought it would be a nice extra on the Christmas roast!

Oh, I like the look of the oven baked rosti cake on that link. Thanks, Elina.

Yes Tilly, I like the fish one too! I thought with this rostis having the added sage & onion, it would work well with a Christmas roast, different textures.

Oh I see the one you prefer has bacon in it too .. even better. I wonder if sage would still go with bacon? Ill try both recipes out!
Let us know how you get on, Elina. I'm going to try the oven baked one tomorrow to serve with roast pork. I'm expecting it to be delicious!
Sage and bacon would be gorgeous.
I used to make a dish of very thinly sliced potato layered with sage,Onion, and wafer thin smoked bacon. Cream/stock was poured over and it was baked. Yummy mm!
let us know how it goes, tilly!
I shall, DTC. Pasta, that sounds lovely too. I might try that instead!
Look delicious. I may try making this evening, but will have to use dried sage.
Funnily enough we're having potato rosti tonight with the slow cooker beef casserole currently bubbling away. These rosti are m&s ones though, pretty good but probably not as tasty as those in your recipe Elina.
Pasta, sounds a bit like potato dauphinois but with added extras.
How's the beef casserole looking, Eth? Nice and thick?
Too early to tell yet Tilly but I'm very hopeful.
Have a peek!
It's against the rules Tilly....but I did anyway. Looking and tasting very nice, and thickened up, hoorah! Only another two and three quarter hours to go.

I will Tilly, you too, shall look back to see if you post.
Thanks pasta, I always value your opinion.
Hi Dt!
Sam, if you do decide to make it with dried sage, can you let me know how it went?
Hi ethan, I'm sure yours will be lovely, nice with a casserole!
