Venison, Guinness, Port And Pickled Walnuts
13 Answers
I have this casserole bubbling gently away in the oven, thanks to Barmaids suggestion and Delias recipe.
I'd never had a pickled walnut but have just eaten one to try it, they're really, really nice..apart from looking like a lump of coal crossed with a mouse brain!
Four tons of sprouts will accompany it.

Ummm, I love chestnuts and always have a vacuum pack of them in the cupboard, they also look like mouse brains don't they?
That's an interesting fact Eccles. Yes, windows will be wide open later...
Should have said, we're having a bottle of Tesco finest Stellenbosch red with it, it's one of The Guardians 50 best wines for Christmas and says on the bottle it's a delicious accompaniment to rich game dishes.
Looking forward to the whole meal,we've started our Christmas early :)
