For a moment I thought that they all were ham & pea soups. Now I see it isn't so. One or two are bacon and pea soup.

I'm making pea and ham soup later in the week. I'm using marrowfat peas though, and I've got a load of gammon juice in the freezer. Can't wait.

Peas must be unique in being the only fresh vegetable available in season whereas most others can be bought all year round.
