Gin nearly outsold fizz last Christmas and G&Ts are becoming ever more fashionable the world over.

I am currently sipping a William Chase and slimline tonic, I have a Tanqueray in the cabinet, but my all-time favourite is Opihr.

What's your favourite gin?

HaHa Baldric. I would rather have a full bottle in front of me, than a full frontal lobotomy.

I like the sound of Sipsmiths. :-)
My favourite is Xorigeur (made in Menorca) probably helped by its association with summer holidays. I've made a feature in my dining room from many empty bottles.
HaHa Prudie. I had post pop up on facebook on how to use empty bottles. Apparnetly they make great garden edgings :-)
Oooh yes Prudie. Went to the distillery many years ago.

Have you tried Larios, Prudie? The Spaniards favour that one (naturally) and also Beefeater.

That looks amazing, 237. Gin combines so well with liqueurs such as St Germain or Lanique to make incredible cocktails.
I 'did' gin when I was at college in the early 80s. I worked in a pub at that time and drank gin and bitter lemon. Even now when I smell gin, it takes me back to that fantastic time. I have disliked it ever since because I don`t like the juniper flavour but now that there are so many artisan gins around I can stomach it again. I like Pink Pepper gin but I haven`t tried that many brands which is why I am so keen to go to a gin tasting.
All I have to say is that if they were drinking carsberg or fosters, gordons or squires, and couldn't tell, then they were in a place that catered for "people" who did not have a clue. Kids bar, gimme the shot, with people serving them that were not fit to be.
It must be at least 30 years since I tried,but didn't like,gin. Too...aromatic?
Since moving down here, I've thought of trying Plymouth gin...if only because it's part of the city's history.

I've got an empty bottle of that Menorcan one, Prudie. I can't remember exactly how it tasted, but the bottle reminds me of a lovely holiday.

I like Bombay at home, but I'm off gin for a while now as I getting through too much of it.

My mother tried Plymouth Gina and hated it.

I bought her Brooklyn Gin for her birthday and she loved it and kept the empty bottle for ornamental purposes.
Currently on one of my Xmas presents; Bloom's gin (Chamomile, Pomelo and Honeysuckle flavours), with tonic and fresh strawberries.
(Best thing daughter did getting a job behind the bar at Revolution; she's 'educating' me on varities and flavours).
237, that place looks good!!

Captain.... my mother had a bottle of that recently but I never tried it? Where can you get it from?
I've never had a G&T, I like Sloe Gin though.
SharonA - yes it does, doesn`t it? I think they have abut 200 gins on the menu and if you don`t want to do the tasting you can tell the servers which flavours you like or dislike and they will pick the gin for you.

I'm going here in the week with a colleague, then on for a curry...

They do a fabby gin cocktail list...
Tony, I love sloe gin too!!! I buy lots of bottles at Xmas and I've got about 2 left.
I've no idea NoMercy, as I say it was a pressie (and the donor is currently at work).
I was a Gordons only drinker 'til daughter got this job; now realise there are subtle differences between makes.
My favourite (and I mention it on every gin thread) is Forest Gin from Macclesfield; they only make 85 bottles a year; it's expensive but worth it - served with frozen raspberries to boot.
I've got about 2 left.

Oooooh one for you and one for me then, Sharon ;-)
I've seen the Larios in Spain NOM but always assumed it was cheap rough stuff. I will make a point of trying it next time.
