I'd never heard of it before tonight. Does it taste different to white garlic, and if so where can I buy some?

Yes, Jackdaw it is. I think it must be because the Garlic Farm is way out in the sticks, with mainly the (Summer) tourist trade to support it. I doubt they do much local business.

I find that the ubiquitous shops at most tourist attractions tend to charge higher prices.
