Is there any food you can cook in or on a bonfire other than jacket potatoes? I've seen recipes/ideas for roasted veg (mushrooms, aubergine, courgette, peppers) but I don't like those vegetables, is there any others I could use? We're having a bonfire this year, for the first time in many years so I want to make the most of it!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated =)

Corn on the cob....wrap in foil and add butter

Bananas...slit the skin down one side, put in some chocolate and/or cinamon, wrap in foil and throw in fire. (these will be very hot)

Marshmallows on sticks.

I'm sure you can do almost any meat that you can do in the oven. I currently buy some chicken kievs from the butchers. Chicken breast with loads of garlic butter. I simply wrap in foil with a load of muchrooms and in 45 mins....chicken and mushrooms in garlic butter....i'm sure you can do this in a fire.

Trout is another super thing that can be cooked in foil. Add butter, herbs or whatever you choose, wrap in foil and throw in the fire.

No wonder i'm over weight !!!

And how do you plan on getting all this lovely cooked food out of the bonfire?

Why not have a bbq as well as bonfire - might be safer and more likely to give better results.

Bacon wrapped around dried apricots is yummy just wrap in foil.
