I've been low carb for about 6 years. The very first time I tried it was about 15-18 years ago, and I gound it restrictive. My more recent attempt was far more successful and it's just how I live now. I've found I'm rather sensitive to wheat, I get quite bloated...if I have one slice of bread it awakens terrible cravings so I'm better off staying away from it.
I eat meat ( mostly chicken and pork), fish,cheese, eggs,full fat dairy including cream and yogurt, some veg( I've never been a big fan)...tomatoes, spinach, rocket, aubergine,cauli or broccoli. I also eat avocados at least 3-4 times per week. I also eat low sugar berries...usually raspberries. If I want something sweet I have 85-90% chocolate.
When I first did this it was to lose weight... I lost 1.5st in 3 months...and most has stayed off.
I've never found it to be dull...in fact it reawakened my interest in cooking.
