When I was back-packing around Europe in the 70's, my jar of Marmite was a god send. No matter where you were and whatever strange new foodstuffs you came across, you always knew that as long as you could get some bread, you wouldn't go hungry !
I can remember making hot Marmite drinks, on a little Camping Gas stove, in a Youth Hostel, half way up a Swiss Alp and sharing them with other Brits !
