Odd Combinations - Barf Corner Perhaps?

I went for dinner with a friend last night, a lovely relatively new restaurant down here, the chef having worked for the Savoy and Michel Roux - he started a week before Monica Galetti.

The food all very nice, however my partner had to go for the most unusual dessert that we may gave come across.
How about curried yoghurt with soft cucumber and a caramel sauce?
The caramel with a hint of the curry was amazing, the rest bizarre and more suited to a sweet raita. I can't find a recipe for it but, conceptually, easy to make not that I want to.
So what odd combos have you 'experienced?'

Islays corned beef meal reminds me of a meal I had at a pub whilst on a course. The pub and menu were both grim so I decided to play it safe with the vegetarian pasta. A plate off luke warm tinned toms with a handful of frozen diced veg poured over some pasta, no seasoning of any kind. It was vile.
The next time I attended a course at the same location I took myself off to M&S for a sarnie. There was some consternation at my opting out, in the afternoon my team mates looked at me with a mixture of envy and admiration.
