Walnut Squares Recipe In You Magazine 22Nd October
12 Answers
I was looking through this recipe and noticed that it required 800 gms of walnut halves plus some pieces. I buy walnuts in 100 gm bags to snack on and they cost £1.30 so 8 times that would come to £10.40 + an extra bag for the pieces. The recipe also required butter, ground almonds, a vanilla pod, six large eggs, double cream and yoghurt. Factor in your gas or electricity and I think it comes to a hefty price for a home baked cake. Anyone tempted to try it?

I would warn you to be careful when buying nuts from a health food shop, I did that a few years ago ,I bought some organic cashew nuts but did not find out until much later that they had been infested with larder beetles , they got into nearly everything else like pasta and biscuits and it took a long time to get rid of them all
