Is Master Chef Getting Routine? I Think It Is And It Makes Me Sad.

I used to watch Master Chef to see what the latest middle class food fads are. But ones I could think of doing for my family as a treat. Once it was all wilted spinach nestling on a jus of raspberry coulis topped with chorizo and parmesan shavings. Now it is is chervil 3 ways with picked heritage turnips and pomegranate seeds with quinoa accompanying pan fried duck breast. (Thank God they don't cook it in the kitchen sink, and I would not recognise a chervil if you gave me one! if you gave me quinoa you would be dead). It is madness now. Endless parade of amateurs slavishly copying restaurant menus all arranged to look like a floral print by Laura Ashley, all the dishes getting done 'Just In Time!!' (time flies it is so stressful they bleat). The funny ho ho moments such as 'Ooops a daisy I forgot to add the eggs to my soufflé cooked 3 ways (Oh!what a ninny hey? Hee hee). The hosts say wise things such as 'It tasted nice'. 'That jus/gravy/sauce is delicious/nasty'. 'Your lamb/duck/venison/trout is rather under done for my tastes/is cooked to perfection'. The mindless testing in the professional kitchens of restaurants for no reason or purpose save to advertise the joint, places viewers have never heard of or could afford to go to ever (remember NOVA with its £500 for lunch menu in Denmark!! now bankrupts I think?). But why? The contestants if they win the programme only write books or open a pop up cafe in Shoreditch/Norfolk. Next stage the cooking for the Important Big Thing Annual Dinner and they just can't get it done on time! oh no I can't stand the tension!! But they manage it. Oh wow!! Bless kisses. Like so many programmes eg X Factor, Changing Rooms, Location 3 times, the Voice, BGT, Bake Off the unique quality has gone replaced by formatted standards pitched at a producers' vision on a ratings "Oooh Aaah Bless" moment. I no longer watch any of them. But forget me what do you think?

We really liked the look of the food served in Sartoria and decided while watching the programme to give it a go.
I am fed up of that woman´s voice too, but it isn´t any near as irritating as Lloyd Grossman's.
