Guilty Conscience

Just been to my local corner shop to purchase a few items. Realised after I left that he hadn't charged me for a loaf of bread. Would you go straight back with the money, leave it until next time you visit the shop again or keep quiet about it?
Think the last one is out of the question, they are just an indian family trying to make ends meet and they work long hard hours. Funny enough, if it was somewhere like Tesco or Morrisons I wouldn't have a conscience about it.

Thanks for replies, probably will do now. Just seems funny how I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if it was one of the big supermarkets (in fact ive got a conviction for shoplifting from Tescos many years ago, but that's another story) But owing £1.40 to a local family run business plays on my mind. Weird.

Thanks gness. I know what squad is saying but the actual amount isn't the issue, its the fact that these people work long hard hours to make a living and don't deserve to loose out whether its £1.40 or £140. But as I said, wouldn't bother at all if it was a large firm

Well , included in our shopping a few weeks ago at Asda , was two pizzas - the checkout girl only charged for one

It was only £3.60 but we went back and told them

They said it was ok.
