Sugar On Pizza

We sometimes have a pizza delivered if we’re too knackered to cook. Recently the vegetarian pizza has tasted sweet - do pizza houses sprinkle sugar on them to keep the kiddies coming back?

I wouldn't have thought so. Maybe the tomato sauce is quite sweet?

Trouble is, clover, that it was a sudden change from the usual taste to a sweet one.
Arksided: vegetarians might or might not like sugar, but on the whole I suspect we're more careful about shovelling it in than most people...

If there was sugar in it wouldn't it have to be on the list of ingredients ? But I suppose delivery pizzas wouldn't have that. Silly old moi !

I went to Pa Pizza Hut in Florida and asked for ham, cheese and pineapple topping. An American guy in the queue said "You British sure have some weird tastes!". He then proceeded to order a pizza with strawberry, red peppers and pumpkin topping. :o)

Never had sugar on pizza...…...but white pepper is lovely on strawberries. Honest.
