Hi everyone. In 2010 (for my 40th birthday) I went to Thialand. While there, we went to a resturaunt and had a bowl of ‘Tom Ka’ soup. It was the best soup I have ever had. Just got back from Venice Beach in California. While there, we had another bowl of this soup and it was just as good. My question is this: where in London does the best, most authentic ‘Tom Ka’ soup? I live in Central London btw.

You'd be best off looking on Tripadvisor for the best Thai restaurants. Our local one is lovely, but not central London.
You can always make it yourself if you can get hold of the soup paste. It's very easy.
Why not try rocky's suggestion, and then based on the reports/ratings go along and sample a few yourself - should be a pleasant bit of research ;-)

You may get a recommendation on here, but it's a bit of a long shot.

Good luck, and happy souping.

Ok, thanks guys. What is the paste called btw?
I looked up a recipe and it didn't mention a paste.
I suppose it'll be like Thai green curry, buy a paste or make your own.
ummmm....I suspect that the paste contains several of the necessary ingredients (as a convenience) that your recipe lists separately...
I'm not a paste will be as authentic as Magic is looking for.
,,,oops...you came to the same conclusion!
I use something similar to this when I make Tom Yum (I believe Tom Ka is the same as Tom Yum, but with the addition of coconut milk). You could probably make the paste yourself, but life's far too short to start sourcing those ingredients, in the UK.

Cheers guys. What ingredients does the paste substitute? Just so I dont end up buying stuff that is already in it. Lol
