I have a pack of sliced ham which has a use by date of 6th sept.
which i doubt if i will eat it all by then, so is it ok to freeze.

thanks, that takes care of not throwing half of it away.

I know of no food which, if fit for eating before, will not be fit for eating afterwards. Some foods may change characteristics, for example separate a bit, but whether or not it reconstitutes, say on re-heating, what you have as it all has thawed out will be edible.

i just hate throwing food away, so i can freeze at least half and eat the rest over the next few days.
yes you can freeze most everything - I sometimes freeze my milk

I freeze all my milk but thaw it out with the bottle upside down x

It won’t be the same quality-wise once defrosted though. Trust me, the ham will be soggy.
