Just for information, Sainsbury's do a pack of 4 Portuguese custard tarts which are really good and very close to the 'real' thing. They also have them singly on their cake counter

I've had these from Sainsburys counter (80p each) and they really are delicious. Almost wish I hadn't discovered them.....!

The pack of four are a lot cheaper Helewel, as pointed out to me by the lady on the cake counter.

Thanks Margo. I haven't seen packs of 4 in my Sainsburys but I will ask. Just means I shall have eat more! Tough job but someone has to do it. Mr Helewel, who wouldn't give tuppence for a standard custard tart, loves these so I'm sure he'll help out...
