I occasionally have a fried spam and egg sandwich, very bad for me but I enjoy it. Does anyone else eat spam?

My Mum would buy 'Luncheon Meat' in a tin Princes or Tulip Brand, I think she thought it sounded a bit posher than Spam ;-)

Love a Spam fritter, not had one for ages.
Love spam, great food to have in if you are short on money!
Mamy - Spam is owned by Tulip.
Luncheon Meat to me was always best served cold... I can't imagine cooking it... Spam fritters though now you're talking my language.
I have spam in my emergency food box
Thanks bhg.
RR - what’s your emergency food box all about?
Lol I got a bit paranoid after watching too many zombie and end of the world type movies and came up with an emergency box containing essential that don’t go off
Cheers for the explanation (although you do sound a bit bonkers).
Lol I know I am normally much more rational
My Auntie used to fry it like bacon, with egg and chips. Wouldn't eat it now.
I like a bit of spam, used to love a spam fritter. You can buy them already frittered !

Hope you enjoyed it, bhg.

Thanks for replies all.
If I happen to 'see' spam I immediately begin to wretch. Dont know why but it has always had that effect on me since childhood. It may be the fatty lumps it contains.
One day the Police sent me to a burglary victim who had mental health issues. After doing about 5 hours work and thinking I was about to leave. The guy asked me if I could look at his back door as it didn't lock. On entering his kitchen I spotted the spam tin, with the tell tale spiral of twisted foil and poking out of the top was a slab of spam... not only spam, it was green spam.( The reason for the green spam was .. because it was covered in spores).
I dived out of the door and threw up. The guy came out after me and said. "You have been here a long time, I will make you a sandwich, will spam be okay". He was now standing in the doorway, spooning the spam out of the can with a teaspoon and eating it.
Needless to say I declined the invite and continued to wretch.
Maggots, fleas, blocked toilets, I can deal with every day of the week .. just dont show me spam.
hotels in Turkey & EU often serve spam with a la carte breakfast. If its square meat slices on offer - thats cheapo spam.
I've a good mind to report this thread as spam ;-D
