Lucky president. A true royal experience.
Apart from the fruit and coffee, there is nothing there I would want to eat or drink - so good job I wasn't asked, I hate to upset people!
What - no burgers ?
The chateau Laffite was wasted on the President.
I believe he does’nt imbibe. Diet Pepsi would of reached the spot.

I thought that my Pepsi Max addiction was expensive at £1.10 per bottle, I drink two a day.

Chateau Lafitte £1400 per bottle - that is scary.
I know seeing that price on a bill would make me Chateau me pants.
Classic and tasty, serve me up a portion, yum.

retro......I think that he will toast with champagne on ceremonial occasions.
And i had to make do with a cockroach flambe starter, then spiders on toast washed down by a cup of water from my fish tank :-(
Well, i say i "had to make do" but, to be honest i chose that over T-Bone steak, stuffed mushrooms, egg and chips, washed down with a glass or two of Mateus Rose.
They could have given him something that cost £1.40 a bottle. He wouldn't have known the difference :-)
It sounds like a very traditional, and very ,lovely meal.

But £1,400 a bottle is seriously scarey.
I'll bet he asked for the ketchup.
wot no chips?
Droooool...
I was invited but i declined ,when i heard they were serving Chateau Lafitte , instead of ,Romanee-Conti
I wouldn`t be mad on steamed halibut. I would prefer it pan fried.
I’d just have the lamb and the wine, thanks.
In fact I do have a hankering for lamb right now.
Why did they have to stump up for the champagne if the food was free ...

I have to say that menu doesn’t thrill me either but then what menu in the world is going to please everyone.

I’m just glad no one went hungry ...

Would love to taste the wine to see if it is 100 times better than a £14 bottle!
Wine not champagne. Whatever
You can tell I’m no expert :-)
