I'm thinking about the idea that BAME people have a higher incidence of CV than the rest of the population, and I suspect that some ABers have their own theories about that. If the situation was that WAME (White American Majority Ethnic) people had a higher incidence of CV than the rest of the population, what would those ABers make of that?

around the same. I would want to know why.

I thought that there would be some angry responses. I'm not sure why, I just thought that there might be.
It will be interesting to see what the analysis of this virus and how it differs between groups reveals.

Is that true? - if so it would be interesting and worthy of discussion. Otherwise it just isn't, because it's just some fictional thing, like what would ABers think if they found out the moon was made of cheese instead of rock.

Seriously, is there evidence of that?
There has to be a logical reason for the statistical differences. It could be a genetc reason but it could also be many other reason.

There are people on here who could argue with their own shadow
PP I understand that in the Hasidic community in America, there has been a reluctance to go into lockdown and to socially distance. "Underground Minyans" have been meeting to pray and even when the Chief Rabbi declared that the Covid-19 precautions have the force of Torah Law (preservation of life, one of the supreme requirements) some people were very reluctant to stop. My Jewish FB contacts are mostly in the US so I don't know if its different in the Uk and Hasidic Jews generally won't be directly in the discussion because the group welcomes non Jews and Jewish women to be involved in Daf Yomi. Hasidic jews as I understand it have got a very small gene pool and already have issues with certain genetically transmitted health issues.

tomus, I didn't claim that something was true, I just asked a question.
er Sir asked

The coronavirus has hit New York State with devastating force, infecting over 340,657 people and killing more than 26,000. And public health data suggests the Orthodox and Hasidic community may have been affected at a rate that exceeds other ethnic and religious groups, with community estimates placing the number of dead in the hundreds, including beloved religious leaders.

are there people out there that do nothing xc maunder on AB and chew gum?
yeah
there are two distinct freds on this fred
one - yeah it occurs in the strict Jews

I drink and I know things. That's what I do.
Well if the WAME had a higher incidence then it would clearly be a punishment from God. Any other explanation would be LAME.
Nice one O-G. I also would still like to know why, were the figures reversed. It seems to be fairly well established that Vit. D has a protective effect and that dark skin absorbs it less easily than white skin. Also some cultures cover themselves up more than others - so when you add it all up together it gives a clue.

I know, but like I said it's a pointless question about something that isn't happening. What do you think they'd make of it?
