I said yesterday on a thread that we’d not had any complaints about our sainsburys click and collect, and that any substitutions had made sense and were acceptable.
Today, instead of three Bramley apples to make apple sauce, we’ve received three packs of six Braeburn apples!
I know it’s not the end of the world but we now have 18 eating apples we dont want, as well as four Jazz apples and four Pink lady apples which we do want.
I really must remember to tick ‘no substitutions’ on certain items..

All you need to do is go onto your account and click Returns. Choose 'substitution not suitable' and they will refund you the full amount for the apples, which you don't have to return. I always use eating apples for pies and sauce as I like my apples chunky and I find Bramleys go to mushy really quickly. Just use less sugar. Having once been sent a 4 litre bottle of clothes softener instead of a 1 litre bottle of washing machine anti bac cleanser, I'm very careful of which items to click 'no substitute.'
