Would You Eat ...

I got three chilled meals from Tesco on Thursday. I wasn't notified of 'short dates' so I just assumed that they would last 4+ days each in the fridge.

However, I have just checked and the Sweet and Sour chicken is 'eat by' 10/7 which was yesterday. Would you eat it?

I am sure that Tesco will refund the cost but I loathe throwing food out.

Like woof says, I'd eat it.
I opened a packet of a soft blue cheese the other day. It was 5 days out of date then. But gooey ripe cheese is much nicer ;)
...and I hope the fridge is running at 2 to 4C and not nearer 10C, as a lot of them apparently are.....
Oh yes. I'd eat it. Some years ago, I used to work for famous food manufacturer who used to have "Staff Sales" at discount prices. Sounds great doesn't it? The prices were great at approx 25% of shop price. Problem was that some of the items were up to 9 years out of date. That's right. 9 YEARS! And people used to buy them regularly.
Actually, I never eat chicken anyway. So, no. I wouldn't!

10C - nine years out of date is extreme. When we cleared out my dad's house when we died there was some ancient jars but younger than nine years.
